Body of Missing Hiker Recovered in Theodore Roosevelt National Park

Search teams have recovered the body of a missing New Town man inside Theodore Roosevelt National Park after a two-week search through extreme conditions.

National Park Service rangers recovered the body of 37-year-old Artoun Gostantian on Sunday in the park’s North Unit with the help of Badlands Search and Rescue. Gostantian was last seen July 19th, and his vehicle was located inside the park two days later.

Multiple state and local agencies assisted in searching the rugged terrain during extreme heat. The Park Service and McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office are coordinating the ongoing investigation.
