The Valley City Commission will consider awarding a nearly $23.5 million contract tonight for the fourth phase of the city’s permanent flood protection project.
KLJ Engineering says Ames Construction submitted the lowest bid of the five bids received. KLJ recommends awarding the contract to Ames, contingent on approval from the North Dakota Department of Water Resources.
The commission will also consider using $4,000 in city economic development sales tax money to help expand Annette Lunde Childcare from seven to 14 children. The money would help pay for a fence, gate, and other supplies. The Valley City-Barnes County Development Corporation is seeking another $4,000 from Barnes County.
The meeting begins at 5 p.m. at Valley City Hall. It can also be viewed online through the city’s meeting agenda.
